You're not imagining it.
Many educators feel inspired after professional learning, only for momentum to fade once they’re back in the classroom — especially without time, guidance, or a clear next step.
Even the best strategies can lose traction without the right support to embed them.
That’s where mentoring makes the difference.
Feeling like the impact of workshops or strategies fades too quickly?
Our mentoring offers your staff sustained, personalised support to help them integrate what they’ve learned into daily classroom life. Here’s how it works:
-
Collaborative reflection — We begin by exploring each educator’s context, strengths, and challenges.
-
In-class observation and modelling — I demonstrate music-based strategies in real time, offering feedback and encouragement in a safe, relational way.
-
Co-planning and resource sharing — Together, we develop routines, songs, and approaches tailored to each classroom’s needs.
-
Ongoing support — Regular check-ins help maintain momentum, respond to emerging needs, and celebrate wins.
Mentoring can be delivered 1:1 or in small groups, and can stand alone or complement a staff training package.
What Mentoring Looks Like
About Me
Hi, I'm Dr Meg Steele, the director of Creative School Support. After over two decades working in education as a music therapist and teacher, a masters in inclusive education and a PhD exploring professional learning for classroom wellbeing, Creative School Support was born from a deep understanding of the real challenges schools face today. I've lived the pressures of teaching and leadership, witnessed burnout, under-resourcing, and the frustration of short-term solutions that don’t stick.
Creative School Support exists to change that. We don’t offer cookie-cutter workshops or generic programs; instead, we embed ourselves in schools through professional learning that is tailored, flexible, and anchored in both research and real-world practice. We believe that when teachers are truly supported — not just with ideas, but with practical tools and ongoing care — whole school communities become places where everyone thrives.
Our work is a partnership, centred in care and driven by the belief that wellbeing and inclusion are the foundation for impactful schools.

Why This Mentoring Works
Backed by Research
Our research highlights the importance of centring teacher support—not just student outcomes—in building sustainable change.
Intentional Music Use, for Students and Staff
Music is a powerful tool for student regulation, and more. When used intentionally, it fosters connection, supports inclusion, and helps teachers create emotionally safe, relational spaces — for themselves and their students.
