We believe that when educators are deeply supported, whole school communities thrive.

Creative School Support was founded by Dr Meg Steele, a registered teacher and music therapist with a masters in inclusive education and a PhD exploring teacher best practice in professional learning for wellbeing and inclusion.

Meg has over two decades of experience walking alongside teachers, leaders, and allied health professionals in complex school settings.

This work was born out of lived experience: witnessing the relentless demands on educators, the heartbreak of burnout, and the cycle of short-term fixes that never seem to stick. We exist to offer something different — something real, relational, and rooted in both research and practice.

What we offer is more than cookie-cutter professional development.

We embed ourselves in schools — working shoulder-to-shoulder with staff to build inclusive, wellbeing-focused classrooms from the inside out. Through long-term mentoring, real-time modelling, and compassionate partnership, we help schools move from survival to sustainability.

Our work is grounded in a deep understanding of:

  • The complexity of contemporary classrooms

  • The emotional labour of education

  • The urgent need for trauma-informed, inclusive practice

  • The power of relational support that’s embedded — not just added on

Whether you're leading a school, teaching in a high-complexity setting, or supporting wellbeing across your staff, we’re here to walk with you.

Our Approach

  • Embedded and Ongoing: We don’t believe in one-off workshops. We work with schools over time to create lasting, measurable impact.

  • Tailored and Flexible: Every school is different. Our support adapts to your unique needs, rhythms, and goals.

  • Evidence-Informed, Heart-Led: Backed by research. Grounded in practice. Always human.

Who we work with

We’re proud to support schools all over Ballarat and surrounds. Our work is particularly aligned with schools navigating:

  • High staff turnover and burnout

  • Student engagement and behaviour challenges

  • Shifting departmental priorities and wellbeing mandates

  • A desire to move beyond compliance to real, relational change

Why it Matters

Because you deserve more than another generic PD.
Because your staff deserve to feel seen, valued, and supported.
Because your students deserve classrooms built on care.
You need Creative School Support.

A Bit About Me

I'm Dr Meg Steele, and I founded Creative School Support because I’ve lived both the joy and exhaustion of working in schools. I'm a VIT registered teacher and a registered music therapist (RMT).

I bring research, lived experience, and professional background across the education sector — but more than that, I bring deep respect for the work you do every day. My job is to make yours just a little easier, enjoyable, connected, and sustainable.
